Scuba Shack will again be visiting with Cape Ann Divers on Saturday, Aug. 28 with a plan to dive the Chester Poling in the afternoon.

The boat will be leaving the dock promptly at 1:30 p.m., but as usual you must arrive at Cape Ann Divers by 12:30 p.m. The Chester Poling is scheduled to be the first dive, and the second dive is captain’s choice.

We have the boat reserved for Scuba Shack staff and customers, but you will need to call Scuba Shack right away to pay for your spot. The cost is $80 per person.

Scuba Shack continues the summer season Drive and Dive program with another Cape Ann visit to dive the Chester Polling and Braces Cove in the morning on the Cape Ann Diver II.

Cape Ann is definitely one of the best known New England shore diving locations, but Cape Ann Divers makes diving the area even easier; opening up some great diving opportunities offshore. Ed Hayes has some divers completing an Advanced Open Water Diver course, and we do have a few additional spots available.

We’re on the Cape Ann Diver II (the large 45-foot boat) and do have the opportunity to get more spots, but please contact us soon if you are interested in booking a spot on the boat.

We are on the morning trip for Sept. 20, which requires you are at the Cape Ann Divers shop by 7 a.m. for check in. Remember, although the plan is to dive the Polling and Braces Cove, dive destinations are weather dependent

You bet, the water is still pretty comfortable in New England in October. As a matter of fact, you may be warmer in the water compared to out of the water! Scuba Shack has a couple of Advanced Open Water dives scheduled up in Cape Ann diving with Cape Ann Divers on their 45-foot dive boat Oct. 11.

Let’s get you into the water and diving at least one more time this fall. We’ll be visiting the Chester Polling and Paddock Rock (scheduled dives may change) for the morning trip on Oct. 11. Space is currently limited, but we do have the ability to reserve additional dive slots if needed.

Chester Poling and Pickett’s Ledge with Cape Ann Divers

A group of Scuba Shack divers headed up north to dive with Cape Ann divers. The dives for the day were the Chester Poling and Pickett’s Ledge. The weather was cooperative and visability was great.

Over 25-plus feet on the Poling, and a good 20-plus on Pickett’s Ledge. I think I have found my new favorite New England (non wreck) dive with Pickett’s!

I would like to thank all who made it out for a great day of diving; Mark, Jeff, Matthew, Tim, Tom, Ken and Bruce.

Scuba Shack has two more dive slots on the 45-foot Cape Ann Diver II for the afternoon trip on Aug. 2. We do have the ability to get more spaces if needed, but we’re asking that divers sign up as soon as possible.

Without a doubt, Cap Ann is the boat and shore diving capital of New England with generally good visibility and some cool dive sites. Scuba Shack generally schedules no more than two Dive and Drive trips to Cape Ann each year, so take advantage of this mid-summer trip!

For additional details and to sign up, call Scuba Shack at (860) 563-0119. Dennis Bosse, Scuba Shack instructor, has put together this local trip at a cost of $75. You must be at the Cape Ann Divers dive center no later than 11 a.m.
