The Highland Vortex Regulator is a technical-grade breathing system designed by XS Scuba for extreme environments, including cold water, deep dives, and extended range missions. It is highly versatile, making it a preferred choice for sidemount, twin cylinder, and public safety dive teams.  The regulator was tested and is suitable for water below 50°F (10°C).  Nitrox ready for mixes up to 40% oxygen right out of the box.  

FIRST STAGE FEATURES

• Cold Water Reliability: Features an environmental dry seal and external secondary diaphragm to keep water out of the spring chamber, preventing ice build-up.  
• Thermal Protection: Integrated heat exchanger ribs on the main body dissipate cold and draw in ambient warmth to minimize freeze-up risks.  
• Technical Routing: Designed with a swivel turret and a 5th low-pressure port on the end, allowing for streamlined hose configurations in complex technical rigs.  
• Durability: Finished in black chrome with a high-quality PVD coating on the heat exchanger for maximum corrosion resistance.  
• Ports: 5 Medium Pressure (MP) and 2 High Pressure (HP) ports. 

SECOND STAGE FEATURES

• Customizable Breathing: Equipped with an inhalation control knob to adjust breathing resistance and a venturi lever to prevent free-flow at the surface.  
• Freeze Resistance: Includes a secondary heat exchanger and a limited-throw purge button to ensure the valve remains functional in near-freezing water.  
• Ambidextrous Design: The second stage is fully reversible, allowing it to be configured for either left-hand or right-hand gas supply.  
• Enhanced Comfort: Features a Comfo-bite™ mouthpiece with a palate bridge to reduce jaw fatigue during long technical dives.  
• Hose: Supplied with a lightweight and flexible Miflex braided hose.
