Scuba Shack instructor Jeff Cinciripino had a great opportunity in May to get some diving in while traveling to Cebu in the Philippines. Cebu is one of the 7,107 islands that make up the Philippine archipelago. It is located in the south central part of the country known at The Visayas. A great dive location for year round diving out of the typhoon belt with much to see and explore.
Diving was based out of Scotty’s Dive Center on beautiful Mactan Island, a small island just off the south shore of Cebu. It is famous for the battle between Magellan and Lapu-Lapu – Magellan lost.
The visibility was excellent (80 – 100 feet) with bottom temperatures hovering around 84 degrees F. Conditions made for outstanding diving on the health reef system in this diverse part of the world. From nudibranchs to Nemo, take a few minutes to peak at the video.
