We are now midway through September. It certainly hasn’t felt a lot like September for the last 10 days or so. The good news on the weather front is that the front has made its way through the state and is heading offshore. That front should steer Hurricane Lee out to sea and away from us here in New England. I’m sure however that there will be some big waves hitting the coast.

Last weekend, Mike, Bill and Ron along with Tom A and Nancy help, ran another advanced open water course down at Brownstone. Congratulations to our newest PADI Advanced Open Water Divers - Tim, Jeff, Marta and Connor. The five dives were completed over the two day weekend and included a foundations dive, followed by navigation and delayed surface marker buoy dives. Sunday was for the deep dive first thing and they finished up with their search and recovery dive.

Also, this week we had the team here at the shop working on our 2024 schedule. Yes, believe it or not, we need to start planning all of our courses now. Our calendar fills up fast and we already have five unique dive trips planned for next year. By starting now with our scheduling we can ensure that we can get everything lined up for another successful training season.

Tonight Bill is starting our September confined water class. This is our last scheduled class for the year as we start to move toward the cooler weather. It is hard to believe that the dive season is starting to wind down. Seems like it just started.

Scuba Shack is now a distribution center for Scuba Diver North America magazine. This is a quarterly magazine that features a lot of interesting articles on dive travel, news updates and gear. We have our latest allocation and if you’d like a copy, please stop by the shop and get one while they last.

And by the way - we are also starting some long-term planning for 2025 - Red Sea anyone?

Until next week, take care,

Jeff
