Scuba Shack Weekly - Volume 6 No. 258.

We have come to the end of August 2023 and what a month it has been here at Scuba Shack. Let me take a minute to recap all of the activity. While Donna and I were off to the Sea of Cortez, the month started off with two Nitrox classes. We then kicked into gear with our first confined water course along with our third Underwater Photography Workshop. What followed was another Nitrox course, Advanced Open Water dives at Brownstone and open water certification dives at Lake George. We went right back to work with another big confined water class while layered in a drysuit certification course and a discover scuba session at the Middlesex YMCA pool. After completing another Nitrox course, we ended the month with an incredible open water weekend back at Brownstone where we also finished up the drysuit course. Like I said, “What an incredible August”.

Congratulations to our 13 new open water scuba divers. Let’s see if I get them all - Raymee, Dan, Luke, Sean, Martha, Fiona, Abel, Lucas, Drew, Megan, Max, Waya, and Nate! Wow!!! Our staff was incredible as we completed the two-days.

Also congratulations to MJ and David on completing their drysuit certification dives this past weekend under Mike’s guidance. We are hoping to do more of this specialty class in the future.

Our night dive to Stonington Point is still on for tomorrow night - September 1. We are hoping that the weather cooperates this time. What a great way to kick off the new month.

As we make our way toward Labor Day 2023, I hope that you have had a fruitful and rewarding summer - enjoy the holiday. Soon the fall colors will be out and the cooler weather will make for some great diving as the water stays warm.

Take care,

Jeff
