Another busy week as we wind down Summer 2022.

Here we are entering our last week of Summer 2022. How did that happen? It seems like just a few days ago that we were making our first dive of the season down in Stonington in early April. Now, we are looking at wrapping up our hectic training schedule over the next month. Yes, there is still a bit of diving to get done up here in New England but the days are getting shorter and all too soon, we will be relegated to the pool, that is unless you are fortunate to head to a warm water destination for some diving.
Even though we weren’t in the water last week, there was still a lot of training going on. On Friday, I completed a Nitrox class and then on Saturday, Monty conducted an Emergency First Responder class in preparation for the October Rescue Diver course. We are looking at a good sized Rescue class and that makes it a whole lot of fun for everyone.
Jay has started our last scheduled open water class of the year. Our future divers were in the classroom on Tuesday night for orientation and dive planning and will be back at the shop tonight for equipment orientation. Peter is helping Jay with this class and they will be all set to head to the pool over the weekend.
Bill held his orientation for Advanced Open Water last night. He will be heading up to Jamestown this weekend.
Like I said, a lot is going on.
Last Thursday night, Monty and I were up in Danvers, MA with the Boston Sea Rovers. This year’s clinic is just two weeks away. The speakers, film festival and exhibit hall is just about all set and it should be a great show. Scuba Shack will be well represented with presentations and workshops. Check out their schedule. Matt will be presenting his film - Crossroads of Commerce. This video is all about the Scuba Shack trip diving Great Lakes shipwrecks last summer.
Stay tuned for our 2023 travel schedule. We are working to get several trips in place to compliment our October 2023 Philippines trips. We’ve got some great destinations in mind.
Until next week, take care.
