Today is Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. December 7th, 1941 the day that propelled the United States into World War II. This day still has a special meaning for me. When I was stationed at Pearl Harbor we routinely passed by or moored very close to the Arizona Memorial - a solemn reminder of the events that took place that day. If you ever get a chance to visit Hawaii and the island of Oahu, you should really plan to visit the memorial. It is quite moving.

The Foundations and Principles of Diving course started last Saturday. Bill and Mike are taking nine divers through their paces. After a full morning at the shop going over gear and technique they headed to the pool for a four hour session. Next up is a review of the video followed by another pool session this Saturday.

Also at the pool on Saturday, Shea conducted a pool ReActivate for three divers before they head out for some warm water diving. And that’s not all. George and Issac conducted a Discover Scuba course. All in all a very active weekend at the Middlesex YMCA.

This week Scuba Shack TV (our YouTube channel) hit another milestone. We now have over 200 subscribers. The channel has experienced a 65% growth in subscribers this year. If you haven’t checked out the channel you can visit Scuba Shack TV here.

We’ve been busy at the shop with a lot of new products being delivered. Our wall of masks is pretty colorful with the latest styles. We’ve also brought in some new products from 500 PSI including a new wetsuit wash and a new salt removing concentrate. Great stocking stuffers.

Here is something to put on your calendar for early next year. On Wednesday January 10, 2024, Donna and I will be hosting an orientation for our summer trip this August to the Sea of Cortez onboard the Rocio del Mar. We will give you all the details on this excellent adventure.

The countdown to Christmas is on.

Jeff
