Scuba Shack Weekly - Volume 6 No. 235.

Well we are back from our week of diving at Divi Flamingo Bonaire with Divi Divers. I guess we really timed that well. We missed the snow and winter weather to close out February. I don’t want to rub it in but while everyone in Connecticut was dealing with the snow we were doing our morning boat dives on the Helma Hooker and Salt Pier. Oh well, someone has to do it. And now we are back here and ready to take on March 2023. If you want to hear a recap of the trip, tune into the latest episode of Scuba Shack Radio - No. 106.

Our Divemaster candidates were back in the classroom on Tuesday night. Ron presented the aspects of risk management and the legal aspects of being a professional. This is an extremely important topic for every scuba diving professional. We all take this subject very seriously.

On Wednesday night, Monty and Bill conducted a Nitrox certification class for one of our local dive teams. There were 8 members of the dive team in the class. We tout the benefits of Nitrox in all of our courses and we are happy to see that public safety also looks toward the value.

Also on Wednesday I attended a Dive Equipment and Marketing Association DEMA Show committee meeting. We are working on increasing both exhibitors on the show floor, participation and attendance at the show. This year the show is in New Orleans and should be well attended.

And if that isn’t enough, we are headed to another Boston Sea Rovers meeting tonight. This is the last one before their upcoming film festival on March 18. The film festival is sold out and now we are starting to plan on the 70th clinic scheduled for March 2024.

And if you are still thinking about coming to Grand Cayman this May - time is running out. We are hoping to close out the trip this weekend.

Now - it is time for some warm weather up here in New England.

Jeff
