Scuba Shack Weekly - Volume 6 No. 246.

Scuba Shack is back from Sunset House on Grand Cayman where we spent an incredible five night stay right on the water, did some fantastic diving and ate some delicious meals at the resort. Stay tuned for our trip report coming soon.

So I missed last week’s update. This was only the second time in over five years that I didn’t provide the blog. There was just too much fun going on down in Grand Cayman to write. But before we left we did conduct our first open water certification dives of the year at Fort Wetherill. Our first day in Jamestown was very rainy and conditions were not ideal but our team persevered. Sunday, the weather was a lot better and our seven new divers completed their dives. It was also incredibly busy at the dive site and it was great to see so many people entering the ranks of scuba.

Now that the calendar has flipped to June, our training really ramps up for the year. We are starting tonight with our first of two June open water classes. Jay is taking the lead on this class. Plus Ron will be conducting a private open water course at the same time (different pool). And we have another BIG class starting June 15.

Scuba Shack is also conducting the PADI Night Diver Course on June 9th at Dubois Beach Stonington Point. The course will start at 5:30 and end when the three dives are done. You will need to complete your PADI Night Diver online course first, fill out your medical questionnaire, and get all of your gear ready for night diving (primary and backup light required). They tell me there was a lot of stuff out on the last night dive at Stonington Point.

Ron and I also met with our four SEACT students from Meriden last week to go over all of the paperwork and logistics for their upcoming course. They are now all set and registered with PADI and we will begin their training on June 13.

So as you can see, it is going to be a very busy June. We hope to see you either at the dive shop or at the dive sites as we make our way into summer.

Until next week, take care.

Jeff
