Scuba Shack Weekly - Volume 6 No. 255.

Donna and I are back from our adventure onboard the Rocio del Mar and diving in the Sea of Cortez, also known as the Gulf of California. This was truly an adventure! Stay tuned for a comprehensive trip report on my next episode of Scuba Shack Radio on August 14th. Sea lions, nudibranchs, whale sharks, pelicans, boobies and so much more. We can’t wait to get back next August.

While we were out diving there was a lot of activity and training going on. First, Bill, Mike and Jay conducted open water certification dives at Fort Wetherill on July 29 and 30. Congratulations to our six new divers on a job well done. This past weekend Tom J along with Alex finished up our first August confined water course with this class set to do certification dives soon.

Bill finished up his third and final underwater photography workshop focused on post production processing. He put together a great program and it has now been certified as a distinctive PADI specialty.

This upcoming weekend is also another big training weekend. Jay and Tom J. are headed to Lake George to conduct open water certification dives. Additionally, Mike and Bill will be at Brownstone Sports Adventure Park running an Advanced Open Water course on Saturday and Sunday.

Like I said - A whole lot of training going on.

Unfortunately, the August 4th night dive had to be canceled. Diving is definitely weather dependent and thumbing a dive is the prudent thing to do to keep everyone safe. Hopefully the next night dive on September 1st will see better conditions.

Until next week - take care,

Jeff
