Scuba Shack Weekly - Volume 6 No. 238.

Today is opening day for major league baseball - play ball and we are just about ready to close out the first quarter of 2023. It has been a very good first quarter. Thanks to everyone who has continued to support the shop and also to all of our new customers who are embarking on their underwater journey. We continue to move ahead.

Last Friday, Monty, Mike and I headed down to New Jersey where we attended the Zeagle regulator service clinic. We spent the afternoon learning about the Zeagle line up of regulators along with the practical application of taking them apart and then putting them back together. The class was full and we gained some valuable tidbits on this product line. If you happen to come by the shop we can fill you in on the new lineup.

Although the weather on Saturday was not terrific, things were certainly heated at the dive shop. It was busy from the time we opened on Saturday until we wrapped up the day. We had a number of individuals getting their gear for upcoming classes along with folks getting ready to travel. While Donna and I were busy helping customers, Monty and Mike were out back in the repair shop working on a slew of full-face mask units for the public safety teams.

On Sunday, Monty, George and I headed down to New Jersey for the Beneath the Sea scuba show. The show had its renaissance from a four year hiatus due to the pandemic. In my opinion and in talking to several of the exhibitors, the show was a success. I had a very productive day taking a look at some new dive lights, regulators and accessories. I also looked at a variety of new travel options and hope to have some news on an interesting opportunity very soon.

Monday night saw the Divemaster class reconvene for their physics and physiology presentation. George led the group through this very important topic. The entire class is heading down to Florida in a few weeks to get in some practical training. If you want to join Scuba Shack for this week of diving, you can sign up online or give us a call for more information.

In case you missed it, we have now been able to get the air transfers from Grand Cayman to Little Cayman set up for our January 2024 trip. That is always a bit of a challenge and we were able to work with Quest Dive Adventures to book all the seats. It is now included in the price online. Check it out - we always sell out the Little Cayman trip and what better way to start the 2024 dive season.

Time to start the second quarter and get out there diving.

Take care,

Jeff
