Confined water success, dry suit training ongoing and more

After what seemed to have been a long hot and humid summer, we are finally seeing some brakes in the humidity and getting some refreshing air. It is nice to turn the AC off, open up the windows and let the breeze filter in. Not to mention the impact on the electric bill.
This past weekend, Bill along with Shea and Tom A. were at the Middlesex YMCA with another large confined water class. The class topped out at nine on Sunday. The group had a lot of fun as they made it through the five confined water dives and are now ready for open water certification dives.
While Bill and team were doing the open water course, Mike started a drysuit certification class for two. On Saturday afternoon, he conducted a classroom session with proper fitting and then on Sunday, they headed to the pool for drysuit skill development. The next step is two open water dives next Sunday. This is our first drysuit certification class using our new SANTI drysuit training suits.
Also, last week, Rachel Benway from PADI stopped by the shop. Rachel is PADI’s Program Manager for PADI Club. I had a chance to show her around the dive shop and then we discussed all of the ways PADI Club can benefit the diving community.
My work with the DEMA Board of Directors goes on. Last week we had our quarterly board of directors meeting. Things are looking really good for a great show in New Orleans in November and planning for 2024 in Las Vegas is well underway.
