Hope you are all staying warm as we brave the current New England winter. I think we got lucky earlier this week with the rain versus the snow. It looks like the storm really hit some of the southern states pretty hard. One thing I can predict is that we will most definitely see more snow this year.
The repair shop was hopping last Saturday. Monty, Matt, Bill, Tom, Jay, Ron, and Ray were extremely busy getting all of the tanks ready for the 2022 dive season. They formed up a production line to get the Nitrox tanks cleaned, getting the visual inspections completed and filled for our upcoming classes. Great job and thanks to everyone who helped us out.
Congratulations to one of our newly certified scuba divers - Alex Brown on completing her high school Capstone project on diving. Alex will be pursuing a degree in Marine Biology after high school and her project focused on the benefits of having a scuba diving certification when pursuing a marine biology career. Not only did Alex earn her PADI Open Water Scuba Diver rating, she also spent 10 hours here at Scuba Shack working on various activities from retail, to repair, to learning more about the history of scuba diving. Once again, Congrats Alex!
Our first open water class of 2022 has kicked off. This is our first class using the new Halcyon Infinity BCs. They fit like a glove. We can’t wait to see them in the water this weekend. We all feel really good about training all of our new divers in this outstanding gear.
In case you missed it, the New England Wreck Symposium sponsored by SECONN has been rescheduled to Saturday March 26, 2022. I am assuming they will follow the same format as was originally planned.
Finally, our Nassau 2022 Memorial Day trip is now open for booking. Take a look on our travel page for all the details. This can’t come soon enough for me.
Until next week, take care everyone.
