Scuba Shack Weekly - Volume 6 No. 244.

I hope that everyone is enjoying the nice stretch of weather we’ve been getting this past week. After those record hot days in April, we certainly had our share of cooler and damper weather. Time to break out the shorts and tee shirts and head outside.

First, I want to congratulate George on his successful completion of the PADI Instructor Examination. The IE is a thorough two days of testing of scuba knowledge, standards as well as evaluations of classroom and in-water teaching. We are proud and excited to have George join our instructor ranks.

Last weekend Alex and Bill completed another open water class at the New Britain YMCA. Congratulations to Mike, Brian, Heather, Jennifer and Lauren for completing their five confined water dives and now they are ready for the final step - open water certification dives.

On Monday, our work with Scuba Educational Alliance of CT continued where we conducted our second discover scuba session at Maloney High School in Meriden. We had another five young men and women take part in the experiential program. Thanks to our great team including Donna, Ned, Nancy and Sonja for assisting in this rewarding endeavor. We are now set to offer full open water scuba scholarships to four of the high school students from Meriden. We could surely use your support in making this happen. Please consider donating.

We are only about a week away from our first open water weekend at Fort Wetherill. If you want to get out and get some early season diving come on up to Jamestown. Look for the Scuba Shack crew and make your way underwater.

Take care,

Jeff
