Early Spring, Drysuits Delivered and more

Jeffrey Cinciripino   Feb 08, 2024

Scuba Shack Weekly - Volume 7 No. 278.

I guess the good news last week was that the pesky groundhog in Pennsylvania did see his shadow. According to this prognosticator we will be having an early spring. Now I am all for that and guess what, on Saturday we finally saw some sunshine. After the long stretch of gloomy weather, it was certainly a welcome sight to see the big red ball in the sky.

On Sunday, Monty, Donna and I spent some time with the Coventry Fire Department fitting them with their new drysuits. Outfitting a dive team with drysuits is a very long process. Donna started working with them almost a year ago to develop the requirements, quote, and purchase orders. Drysuit production takes time but finally, the suits were delivered right before we left for Little Cayman. The dive team looked really great in their fully encapsulated public safety drysuits.

Also, last week we were able to finalize flights for the Cayman Brac trip in October. We have arranged for a direct flight from Miami to Cayman Brac. Yes, we can fly direct since the airport has a runway that accommodates the bigger aircraft. The price of the trip now includes that airfare. This makes it so much easier and now all you have to do is get to Miami. I am very excited that we made this happen.

And if you are ready to start getting in the groove for the dive season, you can check out the SECONN New England Wreck Symposium 2024 - February 24, the Boston Sea Rovers 70th Ocean Expo - March 16 - 17 or Beneath the Sea - March 22 - 23. Three great opportunities to get you excited about getting back in the water.

We are also offering a President’s Day regulator special now through the end of February. Buy a new in-stock regulator/octo combo and get a free submersible pressure gauge (a value of over $100).

We are now one week away from the start of our first open water class in 2024!

Until next week, take care.

Jeff
