We are in the height of our New England dive season. If you haven’t been out there yet, time to go diving. For those who have been enjoying their time in the water - keep up the great work. It has been an incredibly busy week.
Let’s start off with our latest confined water class. Bill and Ned along with Donna and my help conducted the five confined water dives for six future divers. Congratulations to Sarah, Caroline, Max, Kenneth, Alfred and Ryan on this first important step in getting open water certified. Next stop for most will be Jamestown.
Also on Sunday, Deb conducted a scuba refresher class for three. Getting in the water with a dive professional and practicing skills is always a good idea when you’ve been out of the water for a while.
The gang is back from Lake George. Monty, Mike, Tom, Jay and George made the trek up to the lake with the mission of scoping out a replacement spot for Dutch Springs. The report is that the location would be great for our divers of all levels. Tom will be back up there in a couple of weeks conducting advanced open water.
On Tuesday night, Monty and I conducted another Emergency First Response class in preparation for an upcoming rescue diver course. Teaching this class also reinforces for me the value of knowing CPR, AED, O2 and First Aid. These skills are perishable and taking EFR every two years is very important.
Finally, on Wednesday night, Jay completed another Enriched Air Nitrox course. He had six students who are now ready to use Nitrox on their dives. There are just so many benefits to having this certification.
Well it is off to Jamestown this weekend and open water certification dives. Stay tuned for an update next week.
Until then, take care,
Jeff
