Equipment Specialist, Getting Ready for new Open Water class and more

Scuba Shack Weekly - Volume 5 No. 176.

Well that was certainly a little bit of a blast of winter. After last Friday’s snowstorm, the temperature sure did take a plunge this week. I am not exactly sure what the wind chill was on Tuesday. Let’s just say it was pretty cold. Could there be a silver lining in this cold weather? I am guessing we will have ice for the ice class barring a sudden shift to the warmer weather. Get your dry suit ready.

Our annual PADI Equipment Specialist class wrapped up on Wednesday. Always a fun course for all. Thanks Deb and Sarah for taking the class and thanks to Monty, Mike, Bill and Matt for their insights into all the various aspects of the equipment we need to see all the great things underwater.

Believe it or not, we are getting ready to start our open water class schedule for 2022. Donna and Matt have been busy getting our new Halcyon Infinity BCs properly configured for the upcoming class that starts next Tuesday. This is an exciting time for Scuba Shack as we start training all of our open water candidates in the same buoyancy compensator that we use everyday.

We did have our virtual staff meeting last Thursday night. We wish it could have been in person but the darn virus has us on edge. It was great to at least see everyone and have some dialog as we kick things off. Hard to believe that we are already two weeks into 2022.

Also, we were able to nail down a flight schedule for the upcoming Little Cayman trip in October. It was a little touch-and-go as we tried to get to a viable solution. We now have a great option to get us from Hartford to Little Cayman. The trip still has a couple of spots open, so if you are interested please check out the website and sign up soon before we close this one out.

Until next week, take care everyone.

Jeff
