Scuba Shack Weekly - Volume 5 No. 181.

Do you like roller coasters? Well our temperatures have really been on a roller coaster ride the past week or so. The fantastic temperatures on Friday and Saturday last week were quickly replaced with the snow on Sunday morning and cold wind on Monday. The only thing we can do is ride the roller coaster that is unless you can head south. Spring is coming - just hang on.

It was five years ago last Friday (2-11-17), that Monty, Matt, Donna and I took over Scuba Shack. A lot has happened over those five years. We’ve learned a lot, deepened our relationship with many old friends and made many new friends. We met the challenges of Covid-19 and continue to look ahead. We want to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have continued to support Scuba Shack.

Super Bowl Sunday saw us at the pool in New Britain. Mike and Bill finished up an awesome Core Principles class. Congratulations to Ned, Duyet, Neil, Brian and Rick for finishing up all of the pool work. Great job with the propulsion and beginning to back up. That’s really cool. Also, we had some refresher work along with several Halcyon BC familiarization sessions. Three hours of pool time really tires you out. Especially at my age.

One of our themes for this year is Come Dive with Us. In addition to our travel schedule, we have now nailed down some early season dives locally. You can check out our four early season dives on the website that includes Fort Wetherill on March 13, Stonington Point on April 3, Bigelow Hollow on April 10 and King’s Beach/Newport RI on May 1.

We have also set up some time for folks to join us in the pool for some practice. We’ve made it easy to sign up online to reserve your spot. The course is simply titled Pool Practice. Your pool practice comes with a tank and weights.

Getting closer to spring. Stay warm and take care.

Jeff
