Grand Cayman Info Meeting, New products on the way, and more

Scuba Shack Weekly - Volume 6 No. 230.

Today is Groundhog Day 2023. I think regardless of whether the groundhog sees his shadow or not, we still have six more weeks of winter. But everyday now we are picking up more daylight and with that daylight the promise of warmer weather. Just be sure to bundle up this weekend.

This year our Memorial Day Weekend trip has a new location. We are heading to Grand Cayman and staying at Sunset House for four days of diving with Sunset Divers. Because of this new location, we are having an informational session next week - Wednesday, February 8 at 7 PM. I can’t wait to get back to Sunset House. Donna and I were there in September and we had an outstanding time diving.

We continue to look for new products to bring into Scuba Shack to support our divers. Very soon we will be getting new gear from Huish Outdoor. We are starting with several Ziegle regulators and Recon Fins. Also, coming soon is the Oceanic Veo 4 dive computer. Another popular item on our list is the Hollis M-1 frameless dive mask. These new products should be here sometime in February.

Just to give everyone a heads up, Scuba Shack will be closed on Tuesday February 28 through Friday March 3rd as we make our way down to Bonaire. Yes, Donna and I are finally making it to the island. Monty will be at the shop on Saturday February 25 and Saturday March 4. Please plan accordingly if you have any scuba related needs. Donna and I will be back at the shop starting Tuesday March 7th.

Dive travel is certainly a big part of our industry today as the experiences on a dive trip are incredible. We’ve already booked our first trip for 2024 to Little Cayman and would like to hear from you about other potential destinations. Drop us a line at the shop if you have someplace in mind and we will do some exploring. Also, remember, Scuba Shack can set up private trips as well.

Stay warm and toasty.

Jeff
