The heat is on and it is a great time to get in the water for some summer time diving up here in New England. We are certainly doing our part. There is a lot of activity here at the shop.
First, I want to congratulate our newest open water divers. Sarah, Caroline, Ann, Kenneth, Alfred, Ryan, Jeff and Patrick all finished up their certification dives last weekend. The weather and water conditions at Fort Wetherill were outstanding. If you plan on heading out to Jamestown, you should really plan on getting there early. There were a lot of divers, kayakers and beachgoers enjoying the season.
Ron and Alex have started a new open water class this week. They will be heading over to the New Britain YMCA this weekend to complete the five confined water dives. Another full class of prospective divers.
Also this weekend, Tom is heading up to Lake George to conduct an advanced open water class. Neil and Rob will be making their five adventure dives needed for the advanced certification, including the deep and navigation dives.
And if that isn’t enough, Monty and I are starting a Rescue Diver course on Friday night. We will be at the pool on Sunday for practice exercises and scenarios. We will be finishing up later in the month.
My book, “Your Next Dive - My Adventures in Scuba Diving” was released in paperback this week. It is available on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Book Baby and other retail distributors.
So as you can see, there is a lot of activity here at Scuba Shack and we are very appreciative of everyone’s support. I hope you are enjoying the summer and until next week, be safe and have fun diving.
