Heading to Islamorada, Beneath the Blue Planet and more

Scuba Shack Weekly - Volume 6 No. 240.

I trust that everyone had a Happy Easter holiday. We did have some very nice weather and it seems like it is just getting better right now. Sunshine and warm temperatures are what we need to heat up the water and get us back out there diving. Soon!

The Scuba Shack crew spend a great deal of this week getting ready for the trip to the Florida Keys. The team will be staying in Key Largo and then diving in Islamorada with Florida Keys Dive Center and Islamorada Dive Center. They will be doing a lot of different diving down there and stay tuned for updates on our social media from the Keys next week.

Earlier this week I had the opportunity to interview Dr. Alex Brylske where we chatted about his new book - Beneath the Blue Planet. It was a fascinating conversation as he really gives us a perspective on why he wrote this outstanding text and what he hopes folks will take away. The interview will air on Scuba Shack Radio next Monday - April 17. You can check out Dr. Brylske’s book on Amazon or at Reef Smart Guides.

On Wednesday, I attended a DEMA Show committee meeting as we continue to plan for the 2023 show in New Orleans. The committee discussed various ways to improve attendance and participation by both exhibitors and attendees.

Don’t forget to mark your calendar for two key events coming at the end of April. Our first Tent Sale will be on Saturday April 29 from 10 am to 4 pm. We plan on having some great used gear, close out specials and maybe some items from our rental fleet. Then on Sunday April 30, Scuba Shack will be at Bigelow Hollow in Union for some diving. George will be finishing up his IDC open water training dives. Let us know if you will be stopping by for an early season dip.

Thanks again for all of your support as we get ready for some northeast diving.

Take care,

Jeff
