Hello February, Nitrox on Demand and more

Scuba Shack Weekly. Volume 7 No. 277.

We are back from Little Cayman! After a couple of days of high winds that caused diving to be suspended we ended the week with four dives on Thursday and a couple of dives on Friday morning. This time our Friday was bright and sunny so all the gear had a chance to dry out before packing it up for the Saturday return. The trip back went very smoothly and we arrived back in Connecticut before 11 PM.

And now we make our way into February and it is going to be a little longer than normal being a leap year. As we make our way into the second half of winter, I am looking forward to a little more daylight and hopefully a little bit warmer temperatures. That being said, some of our worst snowstorms have happened in February. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the snow will be minimal.

We are excited to now offer what we are calling “Nitrox on Demand”. The process is simple. If someone wants to become Nitrox certified, all they need to do is sign up online on the Scuba Shack website. You will then get access to the PADI Enriched Air Nitrox online learning (or eLearning). Once you complete your online course, simply make an appointment to come to Scuba Shack to finish up with a quick 10 question quiz and a practical application on analyzing a tank. It is very easy and convenient to gain this most valuable certification. Find out more.

The latest episode of Scuba Shack Radio is now available. Find out what I have to say about the tipping culture in the dive industry. Listen here.

And don’t forget to stop by the shop and pick up the latest edition of Scuba Diver North America magazine. We still have some copies available. Some nice reading to keep you warm while we wait for spring.

Until next week - take care.

Jeff
