March is here - time to spring ahead

Scuba Shack Weekly - Volume 7 No. 282.

Welcome to March everyone! What a great way to open up the first full week of this month with some absolutely spectacular weather for what is technically still winter. Hopefully you were able to get outside and enjoy some of the nice sunny days. We are still a few weeks away from the official start of spring, but I will take any day like last Sunday for this time of year.

Last week, the February issue of Scuba Diving Industry Magazine was released. I was fortunate to have an article published in this latest issue. The article is based on the presentation that I did last November at the DEMA Show. That presentation was titled “Sizing up Your Students - Beyond the Mask, Snorkel, Fins and Boots”. The discussion is around new diver motivation and how to engage with these new divers based on why they are choosing to learn to dive.

Monty and I are also putting the final touches on the workshop that we are doing at the Boston Sea Rovers show on dive computers. We’ve spent a lot of time refining the discussion since we last did this in 2022. The workshop will be on Saturday morning March 16.

Tonight marks the start of our March Open Water class. George will be taking the lead on this class. They will continue their training on Saturday and Sunday.

Just a reminder that Scuba Shack will be closed next Friday March 15 and Saturday March 16 as we will be up in Danvers, MA at Boston Sea Rover. We hope to see you up there.

Don’t forget to spring ahead this weekend.

Take care,

Jeff
