Scuba Shack Weekly - Volume 6 No. 242.
We are set to close out another very busy month here at Scuba Shack. Hopefully the April showers will bring May flowers although things have seemed to have bloomed a little earlier this year or is it just my imagination. One thing for sure is that the pollen is starting to really get intense. But it is spring and getting nicer everyday.
Over the weekend, I finished up a confined water class. It was a lot of fun and I want to congratulate our class for working hard and getting all of their skills completed. Great job Aubrey, Lori, Jay, Rick, Jeff and Tony - you did outstanding. Also, I want to thank George and Ned for their assistance. We have an awesome crew.
Donna was also at the pool on Sunday completing a Discover Snorkeling class for two.
Then on Monday, Scuba Shack in partnership with the Scuba Educational Alliance of Connecticut (SEACT) conducted a Discover Scuba class at Platt High School in Meriden. The goal of SEACT is to foster a new generation of ocean stewards through scuba diving and we want to introduce scuba to students who may not have the opportunity to dive otherwise. It was a really fun and rewarding class. Thanks again to Donna, Deb and Ned for making this happen.
On Wednesday night we conducted our trip meeting for the Grand Cayman Memorial Day trip. It is always exciting to get the travel group together and talk about the upcoming adventure. We are only four weeks away from heading to one of my all time favorite dive resorts - Sunset House.
The final preparations are underway for our tent sale this Saturday - April 29 from 10 am to 4 pm. There might be some rain but don’t worry, we have plenty of space to get indoors if necessary. Let’s hope the wind isn’t blowing too hard though.
Plus we have a staff meeting tonight.
And finally if that isn’t enough, the team is off to Bigelow Hollow on Sunday April 30 for some early season diving in freshwater. The plan is to get there around 10 am.
Until next week - take care,
Jeff
