Our dive season remains HOT, like the weather and getting ready for Sea Rovers

Scuba Shack Weekly - Volume 5 No. 206.

WOW! That was an extremely HOT week. I like the warm weather but the past several days have been over the top. Especially when your air conditioner clunks out. Our AC stopped working Sunday night at the house and it got pretty miserable. Fortunately, we had a service technician repair the unit on Monday afternoon. It took almost 10 hours to cool the house back! It looks like we’ll get a little bit of a break this weekend.

Last weekend, Tom finished up our latest open water class at the New Britain YMCA. I was in the pool with Tom on Saturday, while Donna conducted a pool refresher for a diver headed out to Iceland. Then on Sunday, George helped Tom while Donna and I did a non-certified refresher for three students heading to open water this month. Once again, another busy weekend at the Y.

Last night Tom was back at the shop for a Nitrox course. We are encouraged with the number of divers who are opting to take this very important class. We want every advantage we can get when diving and Nitrox gives a significant advantage in bottom time especially on repetitive dives.

The Boston Sea Rovers annual clinic is just around the corner - October 1 and 2. Scuba Shack will be well represented this year. Monty will again be conducting the Public Safety Workshop on Friday September 30. Then on Saturday, Matt is ontap to present his video from the Great Lakes trip last year, “Crossroads of Commerce”. Monty and I will be conducting a dive computer workshop on Saturday as well. Then on Sunday, I will be doing a workshop on publishing your first book. It will be a busy time at Sea Rovers. Hope you can make the trek up to Danvers, MA.

So once again, if you are not a fan of the hot summertime weather, just remember, pumpkin spice is right around the corner.

Take care,

Jeff
