Scuba Shack Weekly - Volume 5 No. 205.

Welcome to August everyone. We are certainly in the dog days of summer. If you like it hot, you’re in luck. If you like it a bit cooler - just hang on, it is New England afterall. But one thing is for sure, the hot summer has really warmed the water up in Jamestown. If you haven’t been there lately, you are missing out. I have to warn you however, you’ll need to get there early. Fort Wetherill was jammed on Sunday. Parking was at a premium as there were a ton of divers, snorkelers, and beachgoers enjoying the spectacular late July weather.

Congratulations to our newest Scuba Shack divers who completed their four dives up over the weekend. The group worked hard over the two days to finish up. We really love seeing the big smiles on everyone’s face when they emerge from that last dive. High fives all around. Great job Ryan, Matt, Charlie, CJ, Dan, Colum, and Justine.

We also completed our latest Rescue Diver class at Fort Wetherill on Sunday. MJ and David did a really good job as we challenged them with all the various rescue exercises and scenarios. They were so very excited when they found the missing diver while doing their square pattern search. We really like teaching Rescue Diver and plan on doing it again in October.

Monty, Donna and I also want to thank the entire staff who participated this past weekend. Thanks Mike, Alex, Ron, Deb, Nancy, George, and Mary.

Tom has started another open water class this week. Our future divers are at the shop this week for classroom and equipment training before heading to the pool this weekend. Our busy dive season continues.

We are also excited to announce that Scuba Shack now has financing options available for gear purchase. I know scuba gear is expensive. So, we can now offer deferred interest financing as well as longer term fixed interest options. We believe this may help a number of aspiring divers build out their kit by spreading out the payments. If you are interested, just email or give us a call.

Until next week, take care everyone.

Jeff
