Time to wrap up 2023!

Scuba Shack Weekly - Volume 6 No. 272.

I hope that everyone had a safe, healthy and happy Christmas. I know there has been a bit of the covid thing popping up again. We have however come a long way since those very challenging times back in 2020. I definitely don’t want to have to relive that experience.

It is time to close out 2023. The year was filled with so much activity here at Scuba Shack and with some absolutely awesome dive trips around the world. I want to thank everyone who has been a part of the success this year, especially all of our dive professionals who did so much to make the year fun and safe and offer a wide variety of activities.

The day after Christmas is always a challenging day for Donna and me here at the shop. We have to do our dreaded full inventory. This year things were much better. We have learned a few things over the years and in preparation this year we did a lot of staging and counting. On Saturday with Nancy’s help we got everything organized for the main event. Then on Tuesday, again with Nancy’s help we whizzed through the physical inventory and actually finished a couple hours earlier than normal. Plus our exception list was incredibly small this time. I guess after seven years we are finally getting the knack. It feels good to put that one in the rear view mirror.

And now it is time to look ahead. It is time to start another year. 2024 promises to be another full year of training and traveling. We are already seeing folks sign up for our first open water class in February. We’ll be kicking things off next week with our Little Cayman trip meeting and then the following week we have our information session on the Sea of Cortez adventure. You won’t want to miss that.

Have a Happy New Year.

Jeff
