2024 Cayman Brac

Trip Recap

A fun and friendly group of Scuba Shack divers headed south to stay at the Cayman Brac Beach Resort for a great week of diving! The weather was looking a bit suspicious just a week earlier, but it turned out to be a fantastic week — far better than the storms that had been forecasted. Although the week began and ended with some high but manageable wind, every day in between was a beautiful sunny day in the 80s, with a water temperature to match!

Diving & Marine Life

Below the surface, the diving did not disappoint. We experienced dramatic Spur and Groove coral formations that created exceptional swim-throughs, along with turtles, nurse sharks, giant barrel sponges, and lobster condos. Large schools of fish filled the water column, and the highlight of the week was the imposing, coral-covered guns on the Wreck of the M/V Captain Keith Tibbetts — a truly unforgettable dive site.

Food, Fun & Resort Life

Above the surface, the group enjoyed many excellent chef-prepared meals and more than their fair share of delicious desserts. Oddly, the entire group was “exceptionally tired” and made it an early night on Wednesday — Karaoke Night. But a good night’s rest paid off handsomely: Team Scuba Shack took home the win at Thursday Night Trivia! A great week was had by all.
