Bali to Komodo and Back Aboard Mermaid 1

Join us on a once-in-a-lifetime journey across the Indonesian archipelago aboard the Mermaid 1 liveaboard. This 10-day, 9-night adventure takes 15 divers from Bali to Komodo and back, departing July 12 and returning July 21, 2026. With up to four dives per day, dramatic dive sites, whale sharks, giant mantas, Komodo dragons, and a world-class crew, this is a trip you will never forget.

The Diving

Most days include four dives — up to 26 total. Expect zippy drift dives, slow reef dives, diving through bubbles venting from volcanic sand, and muck dives at night. Every kind of diving the Indo Pacific has to offer.

Whale Sharks of Saleh Bay

The undisputed highlight of the trip: two dedicated whale shark dives in Saleh Bay. These are in-your-face, up-close encounters with the gentle giants of the sea — an experience you will carry with you for the rest of your life.

Manta Alley

At Manta Alley, you’ll sit and watch giant mantas perform their ballet directly in front of and above you — so close you can almost reach out and touch them.

Shore Excursions

Three shore excursions are included: two island hikes and a guided trek to encounter the famous Komodo dragons with Rangers of the Komodo National Park. Above water, the scenery is every bit as spectacular as below.

Life Aboard Mermaid 1

The crew of Mermaid 1 cannot do enough to ensure you have the best possible experience. The dive team is ever-present — helping you gear up before each dive and waiting to assist upon your return. After night dives, hot chocolate or spiced tea is served with your own warm towel. In the dining room, made-to-order eggs each morning give way to a three-entrée buffet at lunch and dinner. Their pumpkin soup is legendary.
