At Scuba Shack, we believe that safety and enjoyment go hand-in-hand. That’s why we are dedicated to providing fast, reliable maintenance—ensuring your gear is always in peak condition so you can dive with total confidence. We use authorized dealer repair kits for all major brands and utilize advanced test bench diagnostics to ensure your equipment meets the highest performance standards.
Authorized Service for All Major Brands
Our technicians are trained and authorized to service regulators, BCDs, dive computers, cylinders, and more across all major brands. Whether it’s a routine annual inspection to maintain your manufacturer’s warranty or a complete overhaul, we have you covered. In the rare case we are not authorized for a specific piece of equipment, we maintain partnerships with other certified repair providers.
Drop Off Your Gear
Bring your equipment to our store at 3318C Berlin Turnpike, Newington, CT during business hours. Our team will assess your gear, provide an estimate, and get it back to you in peak condition. Tuesday–Friday 12–6 PM · Saturday 10 AM–4 PM. Need to drop off outside regular hours? Call or email us to arrange a convenient appointment — we’re happy to accommodate.

🥿 Regulators
Annual servicing keeps your breathing effortless dive after dive. We perform routine inspections to maintain manufacturer warranties and complete overhauls using authorized dealer repair kits and advanced test bench diagnostics.
🪂 BCDs
Regular cleaning and periodic inspections are vital to the longevity of your BCD. We check for bladder leaks, runaway inflation risks, and overall integrity to ensure your buoyancy compensator remains a reliable part of your life-support system.
🖵 Dive Computers
Battery replacements, button repairs, and performance diagnostics for all major dive computer brands. Keep your most important piece of safety equipment functioning perfectly with our expert computer service.
Cylinder Visual Inspection
All scuba cylinders require a professional visual inspection annually. We follow a twelve-step process to ensure your tank is in serviceable condition.
Note: we can no longer service aluminum cylinders manufactured prior to 1990 due to industry-recognized material defects.
🔬 Hydrostatic Testing
Mandatory safety requirement for all high-pressure cylinders. Standard aluminum and steel tanks require hydro testing every five years; carbon fiber cylinders typically every three years. We can help determine when your tanks are due.
💨 Oxygen / Nitrox Service
Planning to dive Nitrox? Your cylinder requires annual oxygen cleaning to ensure it’s free of contaminants and safe for Enriched Air blending. Industry standards require this service every year to maintain the integrity of your high-pressure system.

Air Fills
Standard compressed air fills for aluminum and steel cylinders in all sizes. Our fill station is maintained to the highest cleanliness standards — clean, dry air every time. Bring your visually inspected, in-date cylinders in during store hours for a same-day fill.

Enriched Air Nitrox (EAN)
Nitrox fills for certified Enriched Air divers. Dive longer, feel better, and reduce surface intervals with EAN 32 and EAN 36 blends. Cylinders must be oxygen-clean and properly marked for nitrox service. Not yet nitrox certified? Ask us about our PADI Enriched Air Diver course.

Trimix
Custom trimix blends for technical divers planning deeper or decompression dives. We work with you on your target mix — helium, oxygen, and nitrogen proportions calculated for your specific dive profile. Advance notice appreciated for custom technical blends.

Scrubber Media (CO₂ Absorbent)
Sofnolime and compatible CO₂ absorbent media available for rebreather divers. Sold by weight. Scuba Shack is one of the few Connecticut shops stocking scrubber media — essential for Hollis Prism 2 and other CCR units. Call ahead to confirm current stock.

Fill Station Hours
Gas fills are available during regular store hours — no appointment needed for air and nitrox. Need a fill outside regular hours? Call us at 860-563-0119 to arrange an appointment. Call ahead for trimix and scrubber media.

Fill Requirements
To receive a fill, your cylinder must meet the following requirements:
- Current visual inspection (VIP) sticker within 12 months
- Current hydrostatic test (within 5 years for Al/Steel, 3 years for carbon fiber)
- Nitrox cylinders must be oxygen-clean and marked
- Valid certification card for nitrox and trimix fills
