Welcome to the September 2021 Scuba Shack Newsletter

Here we are - it is already September. Labor Day - the unofficial end of summer and we start to turn our attention to the Fall in New England which is spectacular with cooler temperatures, lower humidity and water temperatures that are really nice. So, let’s keep diving.

The last dive show in the world before the Covid-19 pandemic hit was the March 2020 Boston Sea Rovers Clinic. Now the first dive show in the world post-pandemic will be the October 2021 Boston Sea Rovers Clinic on October 2 and 3, 2021. Scuba Shack is a strong supporter of the Boston Sea Rovers and the shop will be closed both Friday 10/2 and Saturday 10/3 as we participate. Come join us!

How about capping off the 2021 dive season by becoming a PADI Rescue Diver? This course is challenging, rewarding and fun. You never know when a fellow diver or your buddy might need help. The Rescue Diver course is designed to give you the knowledge and experience to respond to a number of different events. Become a better diver and dive buddy by taking our October PADI Rescue Diver course. Check it out on our website and register soon.

Emergencies don’t just happen in the water while diving. Accidents or medical emergencies can happen at any time; anywhere. By becoming an Emergency First Responder you will be equipped to help save lives. Our one-day Emergency First Response course is set for Saturday September 25. You will learn basic CPR along with Primary and Secondary First Aid. Be ready when needed. Sign up online is available.

We all know that when we travel with our dive gear we are constantly balancing the weight of our dive bag to avoid those nasty airline fees. With that in mind, we have recently brought in 3 different back inflate light-weight buoyancy compensators from Aqualung. You can come in and check out the Aqualung Outlaw, Zuma or Rogue. Affordable and ready to travel without the excess weight.

The trip to Cozumel in February 2022 is filling up. Join trip leader Joel Toohey as he takes you back to one of his favorite locations for a 7-night stay (breakfast included) with 5 days of 2-tank boat diving. The trip starts on Saturday, February 26, 2022 and returns on Saturday, March 5, 2022. Our divers love staying at Blue Angel - a place to relax and unwind, within walking distance of town. A great value at $995 per double diver. We have one Female Double Diver looking for a Female roommate. Don’t get locked out - we may not be able to get any additional rooms.

Thank you for your continued support.
