PADI RESCUE DIVER --
The PADI Rescue Diver is one of the most rewarding courses you will ever take! This course teaches you the techniques to avoid and manage problems and improves your confidence as a diver. During the course you’ll become a better buddy by enhancing your ability to identify potential problems and by practicing emergency protocols. The subject is serious but the training is fun! Many divers tell us the PADI Rescue Diver course was their favorite!
*This course fee covers Rescue Diver tuition, PADI Rescue Diver Crew Pak and park entrance fees (if held at Brownstone Adventure Sports Park in Portland, CT). Emergency First Response certification, PADI Rescue Diver eLearning, a tank and weights are not included.

After completing your PADI Rescue Diver e-Learning we will have one night of classroom discussion. Then get ready to head to the dive site with Scuba Shack where we will introduce you to and practice rescue skills. Then it is time for our rescue scenarios and practical exercises.

What Qualifications Do I Need To Start?
You must be a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or have a qualifying certification from another training agency.
Minimum age: 15 years old (12 for PADI Junior Rescue Diver)
You also need to have completed a sanctioned CPR program within the past 24 months. Our Emergency First Response Primary Care (CPR) and Secondary Care (First Aid) course satisfies this requirement, and is sold separately.
How Does It Work?
You can start your PADI Rescue Diver eLearning at any time. Then enroll in our PADI Rescue Diver course. You will need to complete your e-Learning prior to the start of the course that begins with a classroom session. Next we head to the dive site where we will practice the rescue techniques, skills and scenarios for our open water practical. The open water practical consists of exercises and scenarios designed to present real-world challenges that you, as a diver may face.

Is There Anything Else?
Yes - everyone who takes the PADI Rescue Diver Class must complete a Diver Medical Participant Questionnaire. Based on your responses, you may be required to have your physician clear you for recreational scuba diving. A fully completed medical questionnaire is an absolute requirement prior to any in-water activity with Scuba Shack. You will also need to complete the continuing education liability release form.
