Can't wait to get back in the water? Peter Katz's annual Memorial Day Weekend trip is on!
Scuba Shack's most popular trip year-after-year includes all the great diving you expect to find in Nassau, with five nights of poolside accommodations at Orange Hill and four days of diving with Stuart Cove's Dive Bahamas. Join us May 26-31 for a perfect trip for novice and advanced divers!
Why is the southwest side of Nassau perfect for novice and advanced divers? Most dive sites are close to the island and in waters no deeper than 35 to 45 feet. Most sites feature wrecks and/or fantastic coral formations. But what's really unique is that on many of those sites - yards away - is the famous Tongue of the Ocean featuring vertical walls covered with hard and soft corals dropping more than one mile deep! It's simple - novice divers can enjoy the dive along the top of the wall and more advanced divers can enjoy the deeper wall diving!
During this Memorial Day Weekend trip, divers will enjoy eight scheduled dives.
- Three days of two boat dives each morning
- Plus an all-day Scuba Safari Adventure to Nassau's Blue Hole with two dives and a trip to Rose Island featuring a beach barbecue.
Optional...
- Two-tank afternoon dives - Dive Propulsion Vehicle Trip included on one of the afternoons
Trip leader Peter Katz has out-done himself again this year, setting up another unique dive adventure! Dive by day, and enjoy some of the finest dining on the island by night! Nassau, famous for its warm, clear water, is a draw to TV, movie-makers and divers alike! Dive sites include The Bond Wrecks, Southwest Reef and Peter’s favorite, Pumpkin Patch! The southwest side of Nassau also features more than a dozen dive sites featuring wrecks placed as artificial reefs!

COVID-related Travel Protocols
Visit the official Bahamas government COVID website for current information. COVID-19 policies may change and this website will have current information.
Step 1: Pre-Arrival Testing Everyone traveling to The Bahamas must obtain a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR (swab) test taken no more than five days prior to the date of arrival. The day the test is taken is considered day zero. The test must return a negative result for entry into The Bahamas. As of Jan. 26, a proof of vaccination policy has not been put in place.
Step 2: Apply for Travel Health Visa Your negative PCR test results must be uploaded in order to complete a mandatory Bahamas Health Visa application and must be presented upon arrival in The Bahamas. Once in possession of a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test, immediately apply for a Bahamas Travel Health Visa online at https://travel.gov.bs. As part of the Travel Health Visa application, travelers will be required to opt-in to COVID-19 health insurance that covers them for the duration of their stay in The Bahamas. The cost of insurance is included in the Travel Health Visa application fee. Travel Health Visa applications take up to 48 hours to process. Apply immediately to allow adequate lead time for completion. The cost of the Travel Health Visa is dependent on length of stay. The expected cost is $60 for a five-night stay.
Step 3: Returning to the United States Visit and review the CDC webpage concerning air passengers arriving in the United States. COVID-19 policies may change and this website will have current information. As of Jan. 26, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) requires all persons flying to the U.S. to obtain a verifiable negative COVID-19 viral test (PCR or Antigen) taken no more than three days prior to the date of the flight, and to have a verifiable paper or electronic copy of their test result for review by the airline before they board and for potential review by public health officials after they arrive in the U.S. If you have recovered from COVID-19, you must show documentation of recovery. This must include proof of a recent - within three months - positive viral test and a letter from your healthcare provider or a public health official stating that you were cleared to travel. For on-island testing, we are working to arrange for a mobile testing unit to come to Orange Hill early on Monday morning. If we are unable to arrange for mobile testing, you'll need to arrive at the airport early to be tested on-site. Results are available in one hour or less. Plan for additional delays as this is a holiday weekend.
Book your return flight to the United States for no earlier than noon to ensure you have time to get tested and checked in.
