Scuba Shack Weekly – Volume 2, Number 33

This is a bit of a milestone for Scuba Shack Weekly – my 50th edition. I would like to thank everyone who continues to read the blog and for being a big part of the Scuba Shack family. When I started this weekly blog last September, I really didn’t know how or where this would go. My goal is to continue on and provide a little bit of information about the latest happenings at the shop, interesting articles and other thoughts. Your feedback would be welcome.

We had another spectacular weekend at Dutch Springs. Monty’s PADI Deep Diver Specialty class was both intense, educational, and fun for everyone.  Special thanks to Mike and Ian for assisting Monty as Duyet, Collyn and Ray went through their deep missions. I completed another DIR Intro with Dave P. Thanks to Ned for assisting. Finally, Kasey, Steve, Dave S and Taylor did several dives as part of Scuba Shack's Drive and Dive at Dutch Springs. I wrapped up my weekend of diving with Kasey, Steve and Ned on an excursion to the Helldiver. Great visibility on this WW II aircraft.

Do you know where your plastic goes? That is the title of a blog article by Mathilde Badoud on the Ocean Conservancy website. Now that China is no longer importing our scrap plastic. Turns out that exporting countries are turning to other potential buyers like Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia and Thailand. But that might not be the answer. Here is a link to the article.

Now that the 50th edition is out, be on the look-out for 51 and beyond.

Thanks for tuning in,

Jeff
