A visit from down south, Boston Sea Rovers party and a massive pool session

You just never know who is going to walk into the dive shop. Late last week, Donna and I had just opened up the shop and were checking in some new products when a car pulled up in front. After a few minutes, the people inside the car got out and started to head in. Donna said that the gentleman looked like Alan from Dive Provo. I didn’t believe that was possible. Well, guess what it was Alan, the owner from Dive Provo along with Susan, the owner of Cains Bay Scuba in St. Croix. You can believe our surprise as we welcomed these visitors from down south. Alan and Susan were on their way from New York to Boston to attend the Travel and Adventure Show in Boston and decided to stop by and see us. It was really great to catch up with Alan and meet with Susan. Two more places to get some great diving done.

While I am on the subject of Boston, last Saturday night Monty, Donna and I headed up to Peabody, MA for the Boston Sea Rovers holiday party. The get together had been delayed due to the Omicron spike earlier this year. The good news is this year we did not have to contend with snow. The dinner was at Mill 58 and it was great to see everyone again and have some fun with Mort’s BSR Jeopardy.

On Sunday, Donna, Matt and I were at the pool in New Britain for some outstanding training. Donna conducted a Discover Scuba for two, we had six divers in the water doing some pool practice. Then Matt and I wrapped up the afternoon with a skills refresher and ReActivate for three.

The weather on Sunday and Monday was absolutely fantastic for early March. Just when you think winter may be on its way out, we get the snow. Fortunately, it didn’t amount to much but still not what I wanted to see.

The forecast for this weekend looks bleak. Stay tuned as we will make a call on our first trip to Jamestown by the end of the week.

Take care,

Jeff
