We are back from our week-long trip to South Florida and diving off of Pompano Beach and at the Blue Heron Bridge. It was a great week to get away and get some time in the water. I have not been in the water since the end of May and it felt really good. We are definitely thinking about getting back to the Blue Heron Bridge. There is so much to see. Even with the 90+ minutes of bottom time, you just don’t get to see everything. Just need to see when we can get back.
The Trumbull and Monroe PD training is back on track this week after the poor weather last week. They are working on their confined water training for both dry suit and full-face mask certifications with Matt and Ned. Then it is onto open water certification dives.
We are also finishing up all the preparations for yet another PADI Open Water class. This latest class will run from November 9 through November 14. This class is being offered for those who are planning to do a referral for their final certification dives. And it is full! We are so excited that so many people are taking up scuba diving in 2021. Let’s keep diving.
Matt and I will be heading out to Las Vegas for the Dive Equipment and Marketing Association - DEMA Show. The show runs November 16 - 19. We are both looking forward to the event and while there may be some notable absences from the exhibit floor, there are some fantastic seminars and still a lot of folks to connect with while at the show. The virtual shows just aren’t the same.
We are also planning our Black Friday and Small Business Saturday sale at the shop. We are extending our hours both days and have some special offers when you stop by. Let the holiday season begin!
In case you missed it, the November issue of Scuba Diving Magazine has an article on diving in Connecticut written by Jennifer Idol. She is the first woman to dive in all 50 states. No spoiler alert here. You’ll just have to get the magazine and you can get access through the 45-day free My PADI Club membership. Register Here!
And don’t forget to set your clocks back this weekend! I really don’t like this time change thing.
Until next week. Take care,
Jeff
