Back from the Sea Rovers and Ready for Spring 2024

Scuba Shack Weekly - Volume 7 No. 284.

It is now officially Spring 2024 and time to get really gear up for the dive season here in New England. And we kicked the dive season off in fine style with the 70th annual Boston Sea Rovers show last weekend. 

The weekend began on Friday with Monty hosting the annual Boston Sea Rover Public Safety workshop. This was a banner year for attendance and the workshop was highlighted with an underwater obstacle course where the divers were tasked with finding evidence while navigating a series of obstructions, with their masks blacked out of course. 

We all attended the Speakers Cocktail party Friday night. Congratulations to Monty on being selected as an active member of the Boston Sea Rovers with the awarding of his “Black Badge”. 

On Saturday, I conducted a dive computer workshop going into the history of dive computers, followed by a discussion on features and functions. I wrapped up the morning with a look at how to operate a dive computer.

The film festival was absolutely awesome on Saturday night. I am always amazed at the work that these talented professionals accomplish. 

So now that it is spring, we are really looking forward to the dive season. It won’t be long until the team is back out diving here in New England. In the meantime, we hope to see you at the shop soon as you also gear up for another year of diving.
