Big Weekend at the Pool, Nitrox, and King’s Beach Dive postponed

Scuba Shack Weekly - Volume 5 No. 191.

We are now five weeks into Spring 2022. Where is it? I am not sure about you but it seems like we’ve had a rather cool spring so far. I am ready for the warmth and seeing a little more sun. The other day, I went down by the river here in Glastonbury and with the wind coming out of the south, it was a little chilly even with the little bit of sun peeking out from behind the clouds.

Last weekend we had a couple of awesome days at the pool. Tom with Bill and Jay’s help finished up the April open water class. Congratulations Daniel, Chris, Trish, Andrew, Ian and Panchal on completing your confined water training.  Also on Saturday Kim and John got in some pool practice and then on Sunday Deb and George took four divers through their skill refresher training as they look toward re-engaging in scuba diving. We’ll be back at the pool again this Saturday with more training.

Also this week, Ron conducted our monthly Nitrox class. Four of our divers completed this critically important class and are ready to get the Enriched Air advantage.

We’ve decided to postpone our trip to King’s Beach in Newport this Sunday. Matthew and I have been under the weather for a couple of weeks now and we decided it best for us to give ourselves a few more weeks to fully recover. Monty will be heading out to Florida for some diving with his good friend Chris while Bill and Jay make final preparations for their Instructor Exam down in Fort Lauderdale. So with all this going on, we felt it best to postpone this weekend's dive and we’ll look at trying to get back there in the future.

Let’s all get ready for May. Until next week, take care.

Jeff
