Congratulations First Open Water Divers of 2024!

Scuba Shack Weekly - Volume 7 No. 293.

It’s official! Our first open water certification dives are in the book. This year we started our season with seven new open water divers completing their four dives last weekend. The Scuba Shack crew headed down to Brownstone Adventure Park. The weather was a little uncooperative on Saturday with persistent light rain, but everyone powered through and finished up on Sunday. Everyone then headed back to Scuba Shack for some pizza and a debrief. There were a lot of smiling faces on Sunday.

I am also sure there are a lot of smiling faces down in Grand Cayman right now as well. Peter is leading our annual Memorial Day Weekend trip to Sunset House. He has put together a great itinerary for this trip with unlimited shore dive, 2-tank morning boat dives plus an afternoon boat dive. This short trip is a great way to kick off the summer season.

News Flash! We have reopened booking for the Sea of Cortez trip onboard the Rocio del Mar. The trip runs August 17 through August 24. There are spots available and Scuba Shack has the entire boat right now. This is an absolutely amazing adventure. Check it out on the website.

Also, we have posted the Dominica trip for late March 2025. It is never too early to plan a dive vacation.

We also received our first shipment of Shearwater Peregrine TX / Swift transmitter combo packages this week. The computer is the same size as the original Peregrine. I thought it might be a little bigger, but I guess they were able to squeeze all the processing power into smaller chips. The bezel on the Peregrine TX is all black while the basic Peregrine has the blue outline.
