Cozumel Update, Professional Training Continues, and DEMA Work

Welcome to March 2022 everyone. Do you think it came in like a lion or a lamb? All I know is I think it was pretty cold out there earlier in the week. I can feel it coming though - Spring is almost here.
Our whole group finally made it to Cozumel. The snowstorm last Friday caused many flights on Saturday to be delayed which in turn caused missed connections. While some folks were able to make it to Blue Angel on Saturday, a few didn’t get there until Monday. Unfortunately there is just nothing we can do about the weather. Air travel is definitely very different today than in years past with fewer and fuller flights making recovery from delays or cancellations extremely challenging.
Jay and Bill continue their Instructor Development Course with Monty. It has been all classroom up to this point but very soon they will be heading to the pool. While I am on the subject of professional training, George is well along the academic path for Divemaster. Time for him to get to the pool as well.
Last week I started working with DEMA - the Dive Equipment Marketing Association as part of their Retail Engagement Committee. One of the big tasks of this committee is to select the presentations that are given at the annual DEMA Show in November. The committee is made up of dive shop owners from around the country and I am looking forward to helping make this year's show as successful as in years past.
We’re off to the pool this weekend.
Until next week, take care everyone,
Jeff
