Last Wednesday night Deb conducted another Project Aware Specialty class. The dialog we engaging and interesting. Our plan is to continue to hold these classes in 2020, so check out our calendar in the future. Also, Jill and Monty completed our last scheduled open water class for four new divers headed to warmer waters for their certification dives.

In a recent World Ocean Radio podcast Peter Neill discussed a paper published by the International Program of the State of the Ocean (IPSO) that outlines eight urgent steps for our ocean planet. From addressing climate change, enforcing standards through ending overfishing and reducing marine pollution, the paper is an interesting read. The paper indicates that we have about 10 years to make these changes.

Did you know there is an organization known as the Global Ghost Gear Initiative (GGGI). Read about the three big announcements they made at the 6th annual Our Ocean conference in Oslo.
