First Open Water Dives, Technical Training and Nitrox

Scuba Shack Weekly - Volume 4 No. 20

We are getting ready. This upcoming weekend we will be conducting our first open water certification dives up at Fort Wetherill in Jamestown, RI. It seems like a long time since we’ve been there doing open water dives. There has been a lot of activity up there and from what I’ve seen it looks like the visibility has been pretty good. We are anticipating some really nice late spring weather so if you happen to be at the Fort stop by and say hello.

Last weekend, Matt, Mike and Bill were in Jamestown conducting some more technical training with Chris from Dive On It. They had quite the load of gear in the back of Mike’s truck as they headed out. Guess what - all of that gear had to be unloaded and cleaned up when they got back to the shop late Saturday afternoon. Technical diving is GEAR INTENSIVE.

Don’t forget about our photo of the month section of the website. It is easy to submit. Just email to me at sshackdiving@gmail.com. June is closer than you think and it will be really cool to get pictures from all of you.

Monty and Dave finished up their open water class over this past weekend. The five new divers are all set to become PADI Open Water Divers this weekend.

If you or anyone you know is interested in getting their Nitrox certification we’ve made it pretty easy to sign up from our new website. Simply go to the Nitrox course page, pick your date, and register. You must also buy and complete your PADI Enriched Air electronic learning before our class. You can also do that from our website.

Less than one week until Nassau.

Take care everyone,

Jeff
