French Angelfish, Marine Life of the North Atlantic, Belize trip teaser

I hope that all the Dad’s out there had a Happy Father’s Day and got to do exactly what you wanted to do and now we will officially be into summer this Friday.

It was another busy week at the shop. Joel started Divemaster class with Ian and Mike. We had a number of folks at the pool getting familiar with their dry suits while Jill conducted a Discover Scuba class. Last Wednesday night Monty conducted an Emergency First Responder refresher for our staff and then on Thursday night Phil completed an EFR class. We will be back at Fort Wetherill this weekend to conduct our Open Water Certification dives. If you happen to be in Jamestown please stop by and say hello.

One of my favorite fish to observe when I am in the Caribbean is the French Angelfish. There is something about black and gold color that fascinates me. I have a shot that I took when I was in Nassau several years ago of a French Angelfish and a turtle coming face-to-face over a sponge. I was in the right place at the right time. Marine Life of the North Atlantic is an application by Andrew J. Martinez who is a well-known underwater photographer and author of the book titled Marine Life of the North Atlantic. Andrew originally published the first book because he could not find a good reference for the North Atlantic. He decided to move it to an application so he could add more animals and photos. It is a really nifty application and is reasonably priced. Check it out.
