Goodbye 2021, We’ve got Regulators and more

Scuba Shack Weekly Volume 4 No. 174.

First off, I hope that everyone had a happy and safe Christmas holiday and also hope everybody enjoyed the little bit of snow we got on Christmas Eve. Does that qualify as a White Christmas? Well now it is time to say goodbye to 2021. It was another long year with many twists and turns. I really hope that in 2022 we can finally put the pandemic behind us.

We all spent a couple of very long days on Sunday and Monday this week completing our annual year-end inventory. It is a grueling event that takes a lot of time and energy to account for all the equipment in the shop. As you can imagine, with so many products and repair parts, we are constantly chasing down numbers. It also doesn’t help when the vendors change their part numbers. We got it done and vow to be better next year. Let’s see how it goes.

The supply chain issues continue to impact our product availability. We have been working to get some resolution, particularly related to our in-stock regulators. We’ve been successful in bringing in several nice Halcyon systems (I snagged one) and we also received an Apeks XTX 200 and an XTX 50. It’s been a while since we had a showcase full of regulators. It looks great! Maybe the supply chain is starting to flow again. We are definitely keeping our fingers crossed as we head into the 2022 dive season.

We are still working on our annual Memorial Day trip to Nassau. Peter and I are hoping that we have information from Stuart Cove’s in the next week or so. Once we get that information we will be able to get the trip up on the website for booking.

Once again, I hope everyone has a Happy and Healthy New Year.
Take care,

Jeff
