Scuba Shack Weekly - Volume 6 No. 224.

It would seem that the Scuba Shack travel group made it out of New England just in time before winter set in. Timing is everything as we have been having an incredible week of weather here in Bonaire at Divi Flamingo Resort. There is no snow down here. The day time temperatures are in the upper 70s to around 80 degrees and there is little humidity with some nice breezes. The water temperature is a consistent 79 degrees. For some that is 5 mm wetsuit cold but for me it is just on the edge for my 3 mm. Let’s just say - it’s not dry suit cold! We’ll have plenty of opportunities for that soon enough. Deb and Sarah also joined us for some diving and it was great to see them. They came down in early February for their yearly stay. I will be doing a complete wrap up of Bonaire on Scuba Shack Radio next week when I have another segment of Your Next Dive.

Our deadline for signing up for the Grand Cayman Memorial Day trip is quickly approaching. We need to close out the registration on Friday March 10th for this dive trip down to Sunset House - one of my all time favorite dive destinations. The trip runs from May 24th to May 29th. A great way to kick off the new dive season, especially if you haven’t made it to Bonaire or Islamorada with us.

Just a reminder that Scuba Shack will be open this Saturday, March 4th. Monty will be manning the shop while Donna and I make our way back north. We hear there might be a bit more of that white stuff (I don’t mean sand) on the way.

And for those of you who are really long-term planners, we just set up a trip to South Caicos with East Bay Resorts and Reef Divers for October 2024. East Bay is part of the Clearly Cayman group and we can expect the same great service that we’ve come to love from a dive operations. More to follow soon but in the mean time you can check out the resort here.

East Bay Resort.

Until next week - Stay warm and take care.

Jeff
