Greetings from Las Vegas, DEMA Going Strong and more

Scuba Shack Weekly Volume 4 No. 168.

We made it to Las Vegas! Matthew and I left early Monday morning for our flight to Denver and then onto Las Vegas. I haven’t been to Las Vegas since 1983. Donna and I hit Las Vegas right after we got married while we were on our way out to Hawaii. It has really changed since then. One thing for sure, things look a lot closer than they actually are. Some of the casinos look like you can just reach out and touch them only to realize they are a 25 to 30 minute walk or more away. Don’t get fooled.

DEMA is in full swing. It has been a very busy first two days here at the show and we have two more to go. We have been meeting with a lot of people out here and attending a number of seminars and presentations. Yesterday, I was fortunate enough to participate in a testimonial video for Divers Alert Network on why we support DAN and all of their work. It was interesting and hopefully my takes won’t end up on the cutting room floor. I also had a very nice conversation with Tom Ingram who is the President and CEO of DEMA. Stay tuned for my next episode of Scuba Shack Radio where I will do a recap of the show and my discussion with Tom. 

And while Matt and I are out here in Las Vegas, Donna is back at the shop getting ready for our Black Friday and Small Business Saturday activities. It is very hard to believe that Thanksgiving is just one week away. This year we are going to do things a little bit different than the past couple of years and hope that you will come by the shop next Friday or Saturday - or both and see us. We are hoping that we can give back a little to you who have given so much to us over the years.
