Scuba Shack Weekly – Volume 2, Number 49

Hi everyone and welcome to December 2019. We are in Manila right now having started our journey from Newark on Sunday morning. We flew to Singapore and then onto Manila arriving Monday evening just ahead of the typhoon. We are waiting for the storm to pass by in Manila before heading down to Puerto Gallera and the Atlantis Dive Resort, hopefully tomorrow.

Monty is holding down the shop the next two weeks. The shop is open and ready for you to do a little early Christmas shopping or get your gear in for maintenance before the 2020 dive season kicks off. Check your tanks for both visual and hydrostatic tests. Remember your regulator needs to be serviced every year with service alternating between inspection and full-service each year.

Thanks to everyone who ordered a Scuba Shack custom hoodie during our campaign. Can't wait to see them soon.

We were able to extend the deadline for the Belize trip sign up until Dec. 18. The details are on our website – cost for a double diver is $1,500 or $2,250 for a single diver.

This year the Super Bowl plans on eliminating 2.8 million single-use plastic items. Here is an article from the Ocean Conservancy blog that talks about how the Miami Dolphins and Hard Rock Stadium are committed to helping protect the ocean. Great job and let's hope all stadiums follow their lead.

Next week I hope to be reporting from Dumaguete.

Thanks for tuning in,

Jeff
