Happy Cinco de Mayo, IDC complete, FL Diving and Dutch Springs Update

Scuba Shack Weekly - Volume 5 No. 192.

Happy Cinco de Mayo everyone. How are you celebrating today? Tortilla chips and salsa maybe or perhaps a Corona, Modello, or margarita. By the way - yesterday was Star Wars days. May the 4th be with you! Did you know that Scuba Shack opened its doors the same year as the original Star Wars was released?

The Instructor Development Course is complete. Monty with Rob and Mike’s help wrapped up Bill and Jay’s final presentations, pool practice and paperwork on Saturday. Bill and Jay are now off to Fort Lauderdale this weekend for their PADI Instructor Exam. They are prepared and confident and we are looking forward to their joining our instructor core here at Scuba Shack.

Also, Monty and Chris are down in Florida this week as well. Monty has planned to do some diving at Ginnie Springs, visit the Halcyon home office and factory, and then head up toward Riviera Beach for some diving at the Blue Heron Bridge. They may sneak in some other dive sites in and around Fort Lauderdale.

We got an email from Stu at Dutch Springs. It looks like the park will open for scuba diving only starting May 12 and be on a rolling three week schedule. It is a little complicated with the sales agreement still pending, but Dutch has at least one more hurrah. Not sure if we’ll be able to make it down given our busy schedule. I’ll keep you updated if we plan something out.
