Happy Easter from Scuba Shack

Scuba Shack Weekly - Volume 7 No. 285.

Happy Easter everyone from all of us here at Scuba Shack. We hope that you have a pleasant holiday and we are also hoping that we have some nice weather. What is your favorite candy at Easter? I am hooked on jelly beans. The Cadbury eggs aren’t too bad either. But what about those Peeps?

I didn’t make it down to Beneath the Sea this year but from what I have seen it looks like they had a successful show. These events are very important to keep the dive community thriving. If you haven’t ever been to either the Boston Sea Rovers or Beneath the Sea, I highly recommend that you put one or both of them on your calendar for next year.

Our Nitrox on Demand course is proving to be popular. Last Friday, I finished up another new Nitrox diver with their quick quiz and practical analysis exercise. As I always tell folks, if there is only one more class you take after open water, then Nitrox should be the one. If you haven’t gotten this critical certification or know someone who needs to complete it, check out our Nitrox on Demand Course.

The latest episode of Scuba Shack Radio is now available. In episode 134, I talk about the need for the US to adopt NOAA’s proposed vessel speed restrictions to protect the critically endangered North Atlantic right whale.

This week we also started our PADI Assistant Instructor course. Nancy and Alfred are taking the next step in their professional journey. They will be working with Monty, Mike and Bill as they get put through the paces and challenges of this next level.

And I just got word that Scuba Shack is closing in on another PADI milestone. What could that be? Stay tuned for more.

Until next week, take care

Jeff
