Scuba Shack Weekly - Volume 6 No. 271.
Winter is here and we are just a few days away from Christmas. On behalf of all of us here at Scuba Shack I want to wish all of you a very safe and healthy holiday. Whether you are traveling to visit friends or family or maybe just staying at home this year, please enjoy the time.
Even though we are close to the end of the year that doesn’t mean there isn’t a lot of activity going on at the shop. It’s not exciting stuff but necessary. Last week Nancy helped me do the inventory of all of our rental gear. It isn’t easy trying to find everything after a very hectic year but I am glad to say that part is behind us.
Also last week, the instructor core got together to go over the 2024 schedule and select the classes that they are going to head up. We have a full schedule and I am very happy that we have filled in all of the slots. Our first open water class starts in February. Also, we had a board of directors meeting for Scuba Educational Alliance of CT and we are now focused on a couple of Earth Day events at the Meriden high schools as well as another open water class right after school lets out in June.
Finally, last week we were able to get our dates scheduled for our 2025 Indonesia trip. We are looking at traveling to Lembeh where we will stay at Dive Into Lembeh. That trip will run for 10 days - October 12 - 22, 2025. Long range planning is really necessary especially in that part of the world as October is their busiest month. Stay tuned for more updates on travel in 2025 coming soon.
As a heads up, Scuba Shack will be closed next Tuesday, December 26 for our year-end inventory. We normally do this on the last Monday of the year but it seems Christmas got in the way this year.
Have a very Merry Christmas.
Jeff
